Preorders are a collaboration between our customers and ourselves - we let YOU decide which designs & fabrics to make next. It is an amazing opportunity to be a part of a creative process from start to finish & helps reduce waste by only making what you want.

In-House Preorders
Our in-house preorders are fully run by our team here at Oscha through the Official Preorder Group on Facebook. All customers that are part of this Facebook group can participate. These preorders often involve speciality yarns or allow customers with little design experience to put forward their concepts.
What makes our in-house preorders amazing? We are able to respond quickly to any customer requests and ideas to create exclusive, limited collections. We pride ourselves on working so closely with our customers to create exactly what they want - it is one of many wonderful benefits of being an Oscha customer!
Customer Preorder Groups
Some Preorders are organised through customer groups on Facebook. A group of Oscha fans come together around a common theme in order to design a 'warp' (a background colour) and agree on patterns, 'wefts' (colours which pick out the pattern), and the composition of bespoke fabrics.
Like all Facebook groups, these have Admins who run the group with our support. Once a group has a certain number of members the group Admins can apply for a preorder slot.
If you wish to start your own group you are welcome to do so! Just get in touch with us to give us a heads up so that we can join your group. Remember to check if a group with a similar theme already exists before starting a new one.
What is the difference?
Full Custom & Semi Custom
Full Custom Preorders
Group members get to vote on the colourway, the designs and yarns for the full collection. These fabrics are then approved by our experienced designers and are opened for orders on the site. Normally full customs consist of 7 patterns. Orders are delivered within 4-6 months of the preorder closing. A group must have 600 members to apply for a slot.
Semi Custom Preorders
These are organised in a similar way, except that a group is offered a section of a warp we are already weaving, rather than design their own from scratch. We will contact groups whose warp ideas are similar to ours. Voting is simpler for a semi-custom as there are less options - fewer weft yarns and 4 patterns. Semi-custom groups only need to have 300 members to apply and the turnaround time is faster, orders are delivered in 2-4 months of the preorder closing.
Semi customs are available to the group exclusively for the first 24 hours with listing password protected during this time.
Full Custom Preorder Process
Selection Poll
Groups will submit their application to run a preorder to Oscha. We will consider what customers are asking for as well as what we have planned and offer a slot to one or more groups, this will be announced in the Clan.
Design Process Begins
The group admins will be in charge of the schedule and design of the collection, if you want to get involved in polls and chatter please do so on their group. Full customs normally have 7 patterns and a wide variety of weft colours and blends to pick from .
Collection Announced
Once the design process has been completed admins shall announce their finalized collection on their group.
Orders Open
It is now time to purchase the beautiful collection that has been created via the preorder section on Oscha's website.
Manufacturing & Shipping
It can takes 4-6 months for your purchase to reach you as it moves through the many stages witin textile manufacturing. After purchase you will then be updated via our preorder newsletter as the collection moves through production.
Semi Custom Preorder Process
Oscha Selects a Group
Oscha shall select a group whose ideas tie in with a warp Oscha is making. This group will be allocated space on this warp. Once the winning group has been announced you can join their FB group if you want to take part in the preorder.
Design Process Begins
The group admins will be in charge of the schedule and design of the collection, if you want to get involved in polls and chatter please do so on their group. Semi customs normally have 4 patterns and a smaller weft offering curated by Oscha designers to select from.
Collection Announced
Once the design process has been completed admins shall announce their finalized collection on their group.
Orders Open
It is now time to purchase the beautiful collection that has been created via the preorder section on Oscha's website. Semi customs patterns have limited availability so please do take this into consideration if you are thinking about ordering.
Manufacturing & Shipping
It can take upto 2-4 months for your purchase to reach you as it moves through the many stages within textile manufacturing. After purchase you will then be updated via our preorder newsletter as the collection moves through production.

How do I purchase a Preorder item?
Once voting is concluded in the group, and the fabrics have been approved, we will list these items for 'preorder' on our site. This means anyone from the group or anyone who simply loves their designs can purchase a bespoke item. You can find our open preorders here.
Customers are able to order any Oscha product in a preorder, from baby wraps to carriers, ring slings, bags and scarves.
If you purchase one of these custom made items - congratulations, you are now part of a preorder! This means you will receive regular email updates on your fabric, we will let you know when it is beamed up on to the loom, when it arrives at our Scottish workshop and will send you a final update as our skilled machinists begin production on your carrier or accessory.
FAQ
Is this different to a Made to Order listing?
Yes, Made to Orders are available in fabric Oscha has designed. These open when fabrics are already woven and ready to be cut. You can find out more about Made to Order listings here.
Can I purchase more than one item in a preorder?
Yes, you can purchase as many items as you want!
When do I pay for my Preorder items?
Payment for preorders is taken at the point of purchase, as with a standard order.
Can I purchase other items from the site at the same time?
Yes, we will hold the other item(s) until your preorder is ready to ship.
Can I make special requests for my item?
Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate special requests on these orders.
Can I return my preorder purchase?
No, custom items made from bespoke fabrics are not able to be returned.
